Avijohn Contracting is a family owned company that has been in business for over 34 years.
We began as a civil contracting company in the Sydney metropolitan area, predominantly constructing car parks, driveways, playing fields and the like.
In the last 15 years, we have evolved and concentrated on training and honing our expertise in the industry of asphalt paving.
We specialise in the supply and laying of asphalt for public and private roads, car parks, sports courts etc.
We have invested in plant and equipment designed to meet the specific requirements of asphalt paving work. Our management and crew are trained and experienced in providing high quality outcomes for our customers. Ongoing training of our crew and the upgrading of equipment and plant is an essential part of Avijohn’s operational philosophy to ensure our high standards are maintained.
We are prequalified with Roads & Maritime Services to work on RMS roads:
- A2 (Asphalt Paving)
- F10 ($10 million)
Avijohn operates under a comprehensive Management System that incorporates Quality, Safety and Environmental Management
We are fully accredited to ISO standards:
- ISO9001 QUALITY MANAGEMENT
- ISO14001 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
- AS/NZS4801 WHS MANAGEMENT
We prepare a Project Quality Plan, Project Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan for each contract and maintain Traceability documentation on each job. This enables us to track placement and temperature of the asphalt as well as the weather conditions at the time the asphalt is laid.
Our Environment Management Plan includes a separate Waste Management Plan, Noise and Vibration Management Plan and Erosion and Sedimentation Plan.
Our crew are all employed on a full time basis under the Asphalt Industry award. We operate our own trucks and plant and while administratively our team and depot are based in Camden, we undertake asphalting work throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area and beyond to all areas throughout NSW.
